Our platform features two key elements: a chatbot that helps students grasp science and math concepts without being held back by English-heavy instruction, and a blog where I share my perspective as a high schooler navigating the world of technology, AI, and education. While the bot breaks down complex topics for students who learn in different languages, the blog explores what it’s like to build tech that’s useful, inclusive, and human. The inspiration for this bot struck us during a visit to a local NGO here in Bengaluru. We observed bright, Kannada-speaking students struggling to understand math and science because of the language barrier. They were bright and eager to learn, but English-heavy explanations held them back. That experience made it clear: language should never be a reason to fall behind. Our innovative transliteration bot is designed to break down language barriers in learning, making it an enjoyable and meaningful journey. The language bot is designed to be your comprehensive learning companion. We want learners to ask questions, understand core ideas, and develop a love for learning without the fear of language holding them back. Students can seamlessly ask questions about basic science and math concepts in English or their mother tongue (Currently, we only have Hindi and Kannada, but there's more coming!). The bot will then provide clear and accurate answers in English, English mixed with their selected language and their mother tongue. Through code-mixed and regional explanations, we strive to build inclusive, confidence-building learning experiences.This powerful tool ensures that language is never an obstacle to learning.

Hi, I'm Rishika. I'm a student, a curious mind, and someone who believes that language should never get in the way of learning. I built LexThread as a space where knowledge becomes more accessible, especially for students who speak different languages. At its heart, LexThread is a transliteration bot that helps middle schoolers get answers to science questions in languages like English, Hindi and Kannada. It’s also a growing platform where I share ideas, reflections, and thoughts on education, technology, and AI.
